A day in a sailing boat

Our beloved Bubble sailing boat has been our first sailing boat. Built in 1976 it has proven to be a sturdy fellow.

Morning swim anyone?

The salty fresh sea breeze truly wakes you up in the morning on a sailing boat. You feel the rocking of the waves underneath your feet as you move along with your day. It’s quite an unique feeling waking up in an anchorage somewhere at sea. But now it’s time to really wake up, 1, 2, 3, jump!

Seawater for breakfast

The day continues with a warm bowl of porridge, which is easy to prepare on the gas stove. We have enough water for a week in the boat’s water tank, but there’s also a tap coming straight from the sea into our kitchen. If you’re morning fuzzy you might just pour yourself a nice cup of seawater for breakfast.

Within arm’s reach

Depending on the day it’s either work, studying or sailing on the list for the day. Our comfortable living room/guest room/dining room hast it all from storage space to comfy couches. With everything within arm’s reach and only the minimum on board, it’s hard to lose stuff.

Seasickness alert

We love to have friends over for sailing. Everything is all good, when you’re sitting on deck with lots of warm waterproof clothes on, but if you happen to go inside, seasickness can find you. My great-grandfather was a sailor and he was seasick for the first 3 weeks and never again. So friends, you can overcome it, we hope you have your schedule free for the next 3 weeks..

SUP -board transport

We check the weather forecast regularly while searching for a nice anchorage. And it’s super handy to visit islands with a SUP board, as long as you don’t fall in.

Evening chill

In the evening it’s nice to (or essential) to wrap a warm blanket around you. Put on some twinkly lights and enjoy a nice cup of tea. The swell rocking the boat will lull you to sleep, but be prepared for things to get quite wet, as the humidity creeps in from sea.

Thanks for joining us on this day tour on our sailing boat. Be sure to try out sailing if it’s something that you’re interested in.
